First benefit from Haiti-Educ: Agreement with the MENFP

Saturday, April 28, GRAHN-Monde has signed a cooperative agreement with the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) of Haiti in the presence of Justin M. Viard, Consul General of Haiti in Montreal, and Mr. Pierre-Michel Laguerre, Director General of the Ministry, and representative of the Minister of Education. This is a significant achievement which sends a clear message about the cooperative and consultative approach that GRAHN advocates since its inception, and that the MENFP embraces with confidence. With this agreement, GRAHN-Monde is committed to provide technical and scientific support to the MENFP in all sectors of education, from preschool to university research and vocational training, both in terms of training of trainers, to curriculum development. The details of this agreement are described in the framework document available on request to the President of GRAHN-Monde.

Dr Samuel Pierre is appointed member of the Order of Canada

A second member of GRAHN will receive one of Canada’s highest civilian honours.

Dr Samuel Pierre, professor at ?cole Polytechnique de Montr?al and founding member and President of GRAHN-World, will be honoured for his contributions to the field of wired and wireless communications networks, and for his volunteerism within Quebec’s Haitian community.

The Order of Canada was established in 1967 as a fellowship that recognizes the achievement of outstanding merit or distinguished service by Canadians who made a major difference to Canada through lifelong contributions in every field of endeavour, as well as the efforts made by non-Canadians who have made the world better by their actions.
